I’m in Phoenix for the Covering the Green Economy conference at ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and about to head out of town and back to Washington, D.C.
It’s been a fantastic two days – thank you very much to the Reynolds Center for inviting me out to talk to the attendees. When I started reading the list of attendees, I was totally intimidated – it’s an impressive bunch and I wondered if I had something to teach them. And after spending a complicated 18 hours getting stuck in airports around the country in my attempt to get to Phoenix, I arrived in town an hour or two before I was set to talk at 9 a.m. Monday morning. Dazed and nervous I started talking, wondering if people would be interested at all… but I had a blast giving my presentation on covering the stimulus. And I think it went well.

I’ve stayed at the conference for a day after my presentation taking in what the other speakers have to say and getting to know the attendees – and the stories they’re working on back home – and that’s probably been my favorite part. I’ve made some great contacts, and friends, and I suspect I’ll be working with more than a few sometime soon.
So, as I get ready to head to the airport and flee 110-degree Phoenix, thank you again to Reynolds for having me out here and thanks to the attendees and other presenters for making it such an enjoyable and informative two days.
